Getting to the Event

Please note that, due to changes in the city centre as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Castle Street is currently closed to traffic.

Entrance to the Event will be on foot via the North Gate of the Castle. This is accessible near the Castle Mews of North Road and inside Bute Park. You can access the North Entrance from all Bute Park entrance gates. The closest are from North Road, Cowbridge Road East or Cathedral Road via Sophia Gardens. For Sat Nav: the Cardiff Castle Mews, North Road postcode is CF10 3ER.

• By car: From the M4 Motorway, exit at junction 32 and follow the A470 to Cardiff city centre. Please use the city centre car parks or on-street meter parking.

• Cardiff Park and Ride Services can be used from Cardiff East Park and Ride before and after this event.

• By train or bus: Cardiff Central Station is located just 10 minutes’ walk away. You can also walk to the event from both Cardiff Queen Street and Cathays Stations in around 15 minutes. For details of public transport, see the Traveline website or call 0871 200 22 33. The Castle is on most City Centre bus routes. Please note Cardiff Bus Station is closed for redevelopment, see details here.

• By water: Please note that Cardiff Waterbus services are not running due to Covid restrictions at present.

• By bike: nearest cycle route NCR8 passes through the Civic Centre, only 2 minutes’ ride from the entrance.

• On foot: look for the finger post signs around the city centre. These will direct you to the Castle South entrance which is on the junction of Castle Street and High Street. You can follow signs from here to the Event Entrance at the North Gate.
