Information for Attendees
To ensure and gradual safe return to large-scale events, testing of attendees will need to take place.
You will need to provide the following before entering Eid at the Castle:
-
Evidence of a negative COVID test (Polymerase Chain Reaction - PCR) taken on either the 8th or 9th May.
And
-
Evidence of a negative rapid COVID test (Lateral Flow Test - LFT) up to 24 hours before the event.
How you can access tests and how you should use them
Part 1
-
COVID tests (PCR) can be booked by calling 119, via the NHS COVID-19 app or booking online via https://gov.wales/getting-tested-coronavirus-covid-19
-
When you’re booking a test online and are asked “Is the person who needs a test part of a trial or government pilot project?” Please select "No" as this question relates to events trials in England only.
The next page asks “Why are you booking a test?” please choose the following option:
"My local council or health protection team has asked me to get a test,
even though I do not have symptoms."
-
You can take a test at a Cardiff testing site which are located at
-
Cardiff City Stadium
-
Museum Avenue
-
Treseder Way in Ely or
-
County Hall car park in Cardiff Bay
-
-
COVID test (PCR) results can take between 24-72 hours to be sent back and are returned either via email or text message depending on what you’ve selected.
-
If your test is positive you’ll need to self-isolate immediately for 10 days and will be unable to attend the event.
Self-isolation guidance is here: https://gov.wales/self-isolation
-
If your COVID PCR test is negative, you need to keep the email or text as your proof to enter the Eid at the Castle event site.
Part 2
-
Rapid COVID tests (Lateral Flow Tests - LFT) can be ordered by calling 119, online here: https://test-for-coronavirus.service.gov.uk/order-lateral-flow-kits or by collecting from a Cardiff testing site which can be found here along with the opening times: https://maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk/
-
This test should be done at home and will give you results in around 30 minutes.
-
More information including how to use the rapid tests and explainer videos can be found on the Welsh Government website: https://gov.wales/lateral-flow-testing-people-without-symptoms
-
All rapid COVID test results (positive and negative) need to be recorded here: Report a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test result - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) on the day you take the test. Please allow plenty of time to register your test result and receive confirmation by email or text. You’ll need to show this to gain entry to Eid at the Castle.
-
If your rapid COVID test is positive a PCR test should be booked within 24 hours of the test by calling 119, via the NHS COVID-19 app or online here: Getting tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) | GOV.WALES
-
If the test is negative you need to keep this as proof to gain entry into Eid at the Castle.
